Everybody goes to Li's

So I lied. I guess I still do have access. And while I do, I would like to dedicate this posting to the guy who runs the store where most of us did most of our drinking while at Cheng Du da xue. There are a row of shops within the campus boundries, a few grocery stores, a coffee/tea place, a place where you can get copies, a place that washes clothes and a couple of places I don't know what they do. But of the number of shops we chose his I think becase it was closest to the playing field. But it turned out to be a great place. He and his wife open that place at seven or eight in the morning and are there until nine or ten at night, seven days a week. And the guy is always smiling, always wearing a Chicago Bulls jersey and shorts. His wife is much more laid back, almost pensive. It is a small mom and pop shop and I really don't know how they make it because there is a much bigger shop right outside of campus and at least three other competitors withing the campus. There are a couple of coolers with chilled beverages, a freezer with ice cream treats, a couple of shelves stocked with various food items, and then there is a separate cooler to keep things like pijiu (beer) really cold. There have been nights where there have been ten or so of us drinking pijiu for a fair amount of time, and he always enjoyed having us around and would make sure we were well taken care of and that there was a table available for us. Tonight we had to tell him we were leaving and of course he smiled and wished us well. At least I hope I told him we were going and not that I wanted to marry his daughter. Oh well.
